1:21-28
They enter into Capernaum
and it was immediately the Sabbath day.
Entering into the synagogue
he (Jesus) taught. Those there were
astounded at his teaching. He was
teaching them as with authority and not like the scribes. Suddenly there was in their synagogue a
man with an unclean spirit. He cried
out saying. “What are you to us and to yourself. Jesus, Nazarene? Have you come to destroy us? I know you for who you are, the holy one
of God.” And Jesus rebuked him saying “Be quiet and come out of him.” And throwing the man down the unclean
spirit came out of the man, shouting with a great voice. And all were astounded so as to debate
amongst themselves saying “What is this?
This is a new teaching
proclaimed with authority.
And he commands the unclean spirits and they obey him.”

3:1-6 And he again entered into a synagogue. There
was a man there who had a withered hand.
They watched him carefully to see if he would heal the man on the
Sabbath. That was in order that they
might make an accusation against him.
And he (Jesus) says to the man with the dried up hand. "Stand up in the midst of the
group.” And he says to them
around. "Is it lawful to do
good on the Sabbath or to do evil, to save life or to kill?" But they were silent. And he looked around at them angrily,
grieving at their hardness of heart. He says to the man. "Stretch forth your hand." And he stretched it forth and his hand
was restored to him.
Immediately
after this the Pharisees went out and had counsel with the Herodians as to
how they might destroy him (Jesus.)
