1:18-25
....Jesus' birth
18 Now of Jesus Christ the birth thus was, being bethrothed the
mother of him Mary to Joseph, before the come together them she was
found in womb having of Spirit Holy. 19 Now Joseph the husband of her,
just being and not wishing her to hold up as an example, resolved
secretly to dismiss her. 20 But these things him thinking on behold an
angel of the Lord by a dream appeared to him saying: Joseph son of David,
not fear thou to take Mary the wife of thee: for the thing in her
begotten of the Spirit is Holy. 21 and she will bear a son and thou
shalt call the name of him
|
Jesus: for he will save the people of him from these sins of
them. 22 Now this all has occurred in order that might be fulfilled the
things spoken by the Lord through the prophet saying: 23 Behold the
virgin in womb will have and will bear a son, and they will call the
name of him Emmanuel, which is being interpreted with us God. 24 The
being raised Joseph from the sleep did as bade him the angel of the
Lord and took the wife of him. 25 and know not her until she bore a
son; and he called the name of him Jesus.

......Magi
Ch 2:1 Now Jesus having been born in Bethlehem of Judea in the
days of Herod the king behold Magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem. 2
saying: Where is the one born King of the Jews? for we saw of him the
star in the east, and came to worship him. 3 Now hearing this the king
Herod was troubled, and all Jerusalem
with him. 4 and having assembled all the chief priests and scribes of
the people he inquired from them where the Christ is being born. 5 And
they told him: in Bethlehem of Judea: for thus it has been written
through the prophet: 6 And thou Bethlehem,
land of Juda, not at all least art among the governors of Juda. For out
of thee will come forth a governor, who will shepherd the people of me Israel.
|
Then Herod secretly calling the magi inquired carefully from
them the time of the appearing star. 8 and sending them to Bethlehem said:
Going question ye carefully concerning the child: and when ye find
report to me, so that I also coming may worship him. 9 So they hearing
the king went: and behold the star, which they saw in the east, went
before them until coming it stood over where was the child. 10 seeing
And the star they rejoiced with a joy great exceedingly: 11 and coming
into the house they saw the child with Mary the mother of him and
falling they worshipped him, and opening the treasures of them they
offered to him gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh. 12 And having
been warned by a dream not to return to Herod, by another way they
departed to the country of them.

2:13-15
....Egypt
13 Now
having departed them behold an angel of the Lord appears by a dream to Joseph
saying: Rising take thou the child and the mother of him, and flee into
Egypt,
and be there until I tell thee: for is about Herod to seek the child to
|
destroy him. 14 So he rising took the child and the mother of
him by the night and departed to Egypt. 15 and was there
until the death of Herod; in order that might be fulfilled the thing
spoken by the Lord through the prophet saying: Out of Egypt I called the son of
me.

2:16-18
....Boy children killed
16 Then
Herod seeing that he was mocked by the magi was angered exceedingly,
and sending killed all the boy-children in Bethlehem and in all the districts of
it from two years and under, according to the time which he strictly
|
inquired from the Magi. 17 Then was fulfilled the thing spoken
through Jeremiah the prophet saying. 18 A voice in Rama was heard,
weeping and mourning much: Rachel weeping for the children of her, and
would not to be comforted, because they are not.

2:19-23
....Joseph to Nazareth

dying Herod, behold an angel of the Lord appears by a dream to Joseph
in Egypt 20 saying: Rising take thought ht e child and the mother of
him, and go into the land of Israel, for have died the ones seeking the
life of the child. 21 So he rising took the child and the mother of him
and entered into the land
of Israel. 22 But
|
hearing that Archelaus reigns over Judea instead of the father
of him Herod he feared there to go: and being warned by a dream he
departed into the parts of Galilee. 23
and coming dwelt in a city called Nazareth;
so that was fulfilled the thing spoken through the prophets that a
Nazarene he shall be called.

3:1-12
......John baptizing
Now in days those arrives John the Baptist proclaiming in the
wilderness of Judeae, 2 saying: repent ye; for has come near the
kingdom of the heavens 3 for this is the one spoken of through Isaiah
the prophet saying: A voice of one crying in the wilderness: prepare ye
the way of the Lord, straight make the paths of him 4 Now himself John had the raiment
of him from hairs of a camel and a girdle leathern round the loins of
him: and the food was of him locusts and honey wild. 5 The went out to
him Jerusalem and all Judeae and all the
neighbourhood of the Jordan.
6 And were baptised in the Jordan river
by him confessing the sins of them. 7 And seeing many of the Pharisees
and Sadducees coming to the baptism he said to them: Offspring of
vipers,
|
who warned you to flee from the coming wrath 8 Produce
therefore fruit worthy of repentance: 9 and think not to say among
yourselves as father we have Abraham: for I tell you that is able God
out of the stones these to raise children to Abraham 10 And already the
axe at the root of the trees is laid; therefore every tree not
producing fruit good is cut down and into the fire is cast. 11 I indeed
you baptise in water to repentance: but the one after me coming strong
them I is, of whom I am not worthy the sandals to bear: he you will
baptise in the Spirit Holy and fire: 12 of whom the fan is in the hand
of him, and he will thoroughly cleanse the threshing floor of him , and
will gather the wheat of him into the barn, but the chaff he will
consume with fire unquenchable.
|
3:13-17
....Jesus' baptism
13 The arrives Jesus from Galilee at the Jordan to John to be
baptised by him. 14 But he forbade him saying: I need have by thee to
be baptised, and thou comets to me? 15 But answering Jesus said to him:
Permit now: for thus fitting it is to us to fulfil all righteousness.
Then he permits him.
|
16 And having been baptised Jesus immediately went up from the water;
and behold were opened the heavens, and he saw the Spirit of God coming
down as a dove, coming upon him; 17 And behold a voice out of the
heavens saying: This is the son of me the beloved, I whom I was well
pleased.

4:1-11
......wilderness / temptation
Ch 4:1 Then Jesus was led up into the wilderness by the Spirit
to be tempted by the devil. 2 And having fasted days forty and forty
nights afterward he hungered. 3 And approaching the tempting one said
to him:: If Son thou art of God, say in order that stones these loaves
may become. 4 But he answering said: it has been written: Not on bread
only shall live man, but on every word proceeding through the mouth of
God. 5 Then takes him the devil into the holy city, and stood him on
the wing of the temple, 6 and says to him: If Son thou art of God, cast
thyself down: for it has been written. To the angels of him he will
|
give command concerning thee and on and they will bear thee,
lest thou strike against a stone the foot of thee. 7 Said to him the
Jesus: Again it has been written: Not overtempt shalt thou the Lord the
God of thee. 8 Again takes him the devil to a mountain high exceedingly
and hows him all the kingdoms of the world and the glory of them. 9 and
said to him: These things to thee all I will give if falling thou wilt
worship me. 10 Then says to him the Jesus: Go Satan: for it has been
written the Lord the God of thee thou shalt worship and him only thou
shalt serve. 11 The loaves him the devil and behold angels approached
and ministered to him.

4:12-17
....Jesus starts preaching
12 Now hearing that John was delivered up he departed to
Galilee 13 and leaving Nazareth coming he dwelt in Caphernaum beside
the sea in the districts of Zebulon and Napthali, in order that might
be fulfilled the thing spoken through Isaiah the prophet saying: 15
Land of Zebulon and land of Napthali, way of the sea, beyond the
|
