Ate all and were
satisfied
|
15:29
And (then) removing thence Jesus came by the sea of
Galilee and going up into the mountain he sat there. 30 and approached to him
crowds many having with themselves lame, maimed, blind, dumb, and others
many, and cast them at the feet of him: and he healed them forth cried come
forth though was evil, murders, adulteries, fornication's thefts, false
witnessing blasphemes 31 so as the crowd to marvel seeing dumb men speaking
maimed whole and lame walking and blind seeing; and they glorified the God
of Israel. 32 And Jesus calling forward the disciples of him said: I am
filled with tenderness over the crowd, because now days three they remain
with me and have not anything they may eat; and to dismiss them without
food I am not willing lest they fall
|
into
the way. 33 And say to him the disciples; Whence to us in a desert loaves
so many so as to satisfy a crowd so great? 34 and says to them Jesus: How
many loaves have ye and they said: Seven and a few fishes. 35 And having
enjoined the crowd to recline on the ground. 36 he took the seven loaves
and the fishes and giving thanks he broke and gave to the disciples, and
the disciples to the crowds.37
And ate all and were satisfied, and the excess of the fragments they took,
seven baskets full. 38 And the (ones) eating were four thousand men apart
from women and children. 39 And
having dismissed the crowds he embarked in the ship and came into the
borders of Magadan.

Not to take
heed from leaven of Pharisees
|
16:1
And (then) approaching the Pharisees and Sadducees tempting asked
him a sign out of the heaven to show to them. 2 But he answering said to them:
Evening coming on ye say Fair weather for is red the heaven 3 and in the
morning Today stormy weather for is red being overcast the heaven. The face
of the heaven ye know to discern, but the signs of the times can ye not? 5
A generation evil and adulterous a sign seeks, and a sign shall not be
given to it except the sign of Jonah. And leaving them he went away. 5 And (then) coming the disciples to the
other side they forgot loaves to take. And Jesus said to them: 6 Beware and
take heed from the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees. 7 But they
reasoned among
|
themselves
saying Loaves not we took. 8 But knowing Jesus said: Why reason ye among
yourselves little-faith because loaves ye have not? 9 Do ye not yet
understand neither remember ye the five loaves of the five thousand and how
many baskets ye took? 10 Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand and
how many baskets ye took? 11 How do ye not understand that not concerning
loaves I said to you? But take heed from the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
12 Then they understood that not he said to take heed from the
leaven of the loaves, but from the teaching of the Pharisees and
Sadducees.

Again, the paragraph falls into two halves, the 2nd a commentary on the

16:13-19
|
. .on this rock I
will build of me the church
|
16:13 And (then) coming the Jesus into the parts
of Caesarea of Philip he questioned the disciples of him saying. Whom say
the men to be the Son of man? 14 And they said: Some indeed John the Baptist,
and others Elias, and others Jeremias or one of the prophets. 15 He says to
them: But ye whom me say to be? 16 And answering Simon Peter said: 17 Thou
art
|
the
Christ the Son of God of the living. And answering Jesus said to him:
Blessed art thou, Simon Barjonas because flesh and blood did not reveal to
thee but the Father of me in the heavens. 18 And I also to thee say; Thou
art Peter, and on this rock I will build of me the church and the gates
of Hades will not prevail against it.

Some here by no means taste death
|
16:21
From then began Jesus Christ to show to the disciples of him that it
behoves him to Jerusalem to go and many things to suffer from the elders and
chief priests and scribes and to be killed and on the third day to be
raised. 22 And taking him Peter began to rebuke him saying: Propitious to
thee Lord: by no means shall be to thee this. 23 But he turning said to
Peter: Go behind me Satan: an offence thou art of me, because thou thinkest
not the things of God but the things of men. 24 Then the Jesus said to the
disciples of him: If anyone wishes after me to come, let him deny himself
and let him take the cross of him, and let him follow
|
me.
25 For whoever wishes the life of him to save, he will lose it; and whoever
loses the life of him for the sake of me, he will find it. 26 What for will
be benefited a man, if the world whole he should gain, but the soul of him
loses? or what will give a man an exchange of the sol of him? 27 is about
For the Son of man to come in the glory of the Father of him with the
angels of him, and then he will reward to each man according to the conduct
of him. 28 Truly I say to you There are some of the ones here standing who
by no means may taste of death until they see the Son of man coming tin
the kingdom of him.

Son of man about to suffer
|
17:1
And after days six takes the Jesus the Peter and James and John the brother
of him, and leads up them to mountain a high privately. 2 And he was
transfigured before them, and shone the face of him as the sun, and the
garments of him became white as the light. 3 And behold was seen by them
Moses and Elias conversing with him. 4 And answering the Peter said to
Jesus: Lord, good it is as here to be: if thou willest, I will make here
three tents, for thee one and for Moses one and for Elias one. 5 While he
was yet speaking, behold could a bright overshadowed them, and behold a voice
out of the cloud saying: This is the son of me the beloved, in whom I was
well pleased: hear ye him. 6 And hearing the disciples fell on the face of
them and feared exceedingly.
|
7
And approached the Jesus and touching them said: Rise and do not fear. 8
And lifting up the eyes of them no one they saw except himself Jesus only.
9 And (when) coming down them
out of the mountain enjoined them the Jesus saying: To no one tell the
vision until the Son of man out of dead be raised. 10 And questioned him the
disciples saying: Why then the scribes say that Elias it behoves to come
first? 11 And he answering said: Elias indeed is coming and will restore
all things; 12 But I tell you that Elias already came, and they did no
recognise him, but did by him whatever things they wished; thus also the
Son of man is about to suffer by them. 13 Then understood the disciples
that concerning John the Baptist he spoke to them.

17:14-20

.. Nothing will be impossible to you
|
17:14
And (when) they coming to the crowd approached to him a man falling
on knees to him 15 and saying: Lord pity of me the son, because he is
moonstruck and ill has; for often he falls into the fire and often into the
water. 16. And I brought him to the disciples of thee, and not they were
able him to heal. 17 answering And Jesus said: O generation unbelieving and
having been perverted, until when with you shall I be? until when shall I
endure you?
|
bring
to me him here. 18 and rebuked it the Jesus and came out from him the
demon., and was healed the boy from the hour that. 19 The approaching the
disciples to Jesus privately said: Why we were not able to expel it? 20 And
he says to them: Because of the little faith of you; for truly I say to
you, if ye have faith as a grain of mustard, ye will say mountain to this:
Remove hence there, and it will be removed, and nothing will be
impossible to you. (there is no v 21 in RSV)

23 Grieves

...Grieved
|
17:22 And (when) strolling them in Galilee said to them Jesus: is about the Son of man
to be delivered into the hands of

men,
23 and they will kill him, and on the third day he will be raised. And they
were grieved exceedingly.

|
17:24 And (when) coming them to Capernaum approached the ones the
didrachmae ? receiving Peter and said: The teacher of you not pays
drachmae. He says: Yes 25 And coming into the house preceded him Jesus saying:
What to thee seems it Simon the kings of the earth from whom do they take
toll or poll-tax from the sons of
|
them
or from strangers 26 And he saying From strangers, said to him Jesus Then
free are the sons. 27 But lest we should offend them, going to the sea cast
a hook and the coming first fish take and opening the mouth of it thou wilt
find a stater; that taking give them for me and thee.

25. Is present
|
18:1-20
|
Where 2 or 3
assembled there am I
|
18:1
In that hour approached the disciples to Jesus saying: Who then
greater is in the kingdom of the heavens? 2 And calling forward a child he
set him in the midst of them 3 and said Truly I say t you, except ye turn
and become as children, by no means may ye enter into the kingdom of the
heavens. 4 He who Therefore will humble himself as a child this, this one
is the greater in the kingdom of the heavens. 5 And whoever receives one
child such in the name of me, me receives; 6 and whoever offends one little
ones of these believing in me, it is expedient for him that be hanged an
upper millstone round the neck of him and the be drowned in the depth of
the sea. 7 Woe to the world from offences; for it is necessity to come
offences, but woe to the man through whom the offence comes. 8 Now if the
hand of thee or the foot of thee offends thee, cut off it and cast from
thee; good for thee it is to enter into life maimed or lame, than two hands
or two feet having to be cast into the fire eternal. 9 And if the eye of
thee offends thee, pluck out it and cast from thee; good for thee it is
one-eyed into the life to enter, than two eyes having to be cast into the
gehenna of fire. 10 See that not ye despise one little ones of thee for I
tell you that the angels of them in heavens always see the face of the
Father of me in heavens. 12 What to
|
you
seems it? if there to any man a hundred sheep and wanders one of them, will
he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and going seeks the wandering
one? 13 And if he happens to find it, truly I say to you that he rejoices
over it more than over the nine-nine not having wandered. 14 So it is not
the will before the Father of you in heavens that should perish one little
ones of these. 15 Now if sins the brother of thee go reprove him between thee
and him alone. If thee he hears, thou gainedst the brother of thee; 16 but
if not he hears, take with thee more one or two, that on by the mouth of
two witnesses or three may be established every word; 17 but if he refuses
to hear them, tell to the church; and if even the church he refuses to
hear, let him be to thee as the gentile and the tax-collector. 18 Truly I
say to you whatever things ye bind on the earth shall be having been bound in heaven, and whatever
thins ye loose on the earth shall having been loosed in heaven. 19 Again
truly I say to you that if two agree of you on the earth concerning every
thing whatever they ask, it shall be to them from the Father of me in
heavens. 20 For where are two or three having been assembled in my name,
there I am in the midst of them.

26. . . . . Forgives. . . .
|
18:21-35
|
Forgive brother of him from heart
|
18:21 Then approaching the Peter said to him:
Lord how often will sin against me the brother of me and I will forgive him
until seven times? 22 Says to him the Jesus; I tell not to thee until seven
times, but until seventy times seven. 23 Therefore was is likened the
kingdom of the heavens to a man a king, who wished to take account with the
slaves of him. 24 And beginning him to take, was brought forward one to him
debtor of ten thousand talents. 25 And not having him to repay, commanded
him the Lord to be sold and the wife and the children and all things
whatever he has and to be repaid. 26 Falling therefore the slave did obeisance
to him saying: Defer anger over me, and all things I will repay thee. 27
And filled with tenderness the lord slave of that released him, and the
loan forgave him. 28 But going out slave that found one of the
fellow-slaves
|
of
him, who owed him a hundred denarii, and seizing him throttled saying:
Repay if something thou owest. 29 Falling therefore the fellow-slave of him
besought him saying: Defer anger over me, and I will repay thee. 30 But he
not wished, but going away three him into prison until he should repay the
thing owing. 31 Seeing therefore the fellow-slaves of him the things having
taken place they were grieved exceedingly, and coming explained to the lord
of themselves all the things having taken place. 32 Then calling forward
him the lord of him says to him: Slave wicked, all debts that I forgave
thee, since thou besoughtest me; 33 did it not behove also thee to pit the
fellow-slave of thee, as I also thee pitied? 34 And being angry the lord of
him delivered him to the tormentors until he should repay all the things
owning to him. 35 Thus also the Father of me the heavenly will do to you,
unless ye forgive each one the brother of him from the hearts of you. .

Note key positions of "forgive" in
Matthew c/f middle of Section C and end of Section D. It also is in middle
of concentric circle on Law in Mark . It occurs at end of Gospel of Luke
and is spoken by Jesus on the cross. It also appears to be stressed in a
forgiveness theme re disciples at end of Matthew's gospel .
