18:21-35

Forgive brother of him from heart

18:21 Then approaching the Peter said to him: Lord how often will sin against me the brother of me and I will forgive him until seven times? 22 Says to him the Jesus; I tell not to thee until seven times, but until seventy times seven. 23 Therefore was is likened the kingdom of the heavens to a man a king, who wished to take account with the slaves of him. 24 And beginning him to take, was brought forward one to him debtor of ten thousand talents. 25 And not having him to repay, commanded him the Lord to be sold and the wife and the children and all things whatever he has and to be repaid. 26 Falling therefore the slave did obeisance to him saying: Defer anger over me, and all things I will repay thee. 27 And filled with tenderness the lord slave of that released him, and the loan forgave him. 28 But going out slave that found one of the fellow-slaves

of him, who owed him a hundred denarii, and seizing him throttled saying: Repay if something thou owest. 29 Falling therefore the fellow-slave of him besought him saying: Defer anger over me, and I will repay thee. 30 But he not wished, but going away three him into prison until he should repay the thing owing. 31 Seeing therefore the fellow-slaves of him the things having taken place they were grieved exceedingly, and coming explained to the lord of themselves all the things having taken place. 32 Then calling forward him the lord of him says to him: Slave wicked, all debts that I forgave thee, since thou besoughtest me; 33 did it not behove also thee to pit the fellow-slave of thee, as I also thee pitied? 34 And being angry the lord of him delivered him to the tormentors until he should repay all the things owning to him. 35 Thus also the Father of me the heavenly will do to you, unless ye forgive each one the brother of him from the hearts of you. .

Note key positions of "forgive" in Matthew c/f middle of Section C and end of Section D. It also is in middle of concentric circle on Law in Mark . It occurs at end of Gospel of Luke and is spoken by Jesus on the cross. It also appears to be stressed in a forgiveness theme re disciples at end of Matthew's gospel .
